Trail Name: Leapfrog
Hi, I’m Will, but I’m just as happy to be called by my trail name, Leapfrog. I’m passionate about backpacking, rock and ice climbing, birding, kayaking, and just about anything that gets me outside.
I’ve had the privilege of exploring some of the country’s finest backcountry, from Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trail thru-hikes to backpacking and climbing trips everywhere I can dream of. I have an insatiable appetite for new adventures and places, and luckily there are infinite possibilities for getting out into this incredible world. Each backcountry trip leaves me content and renewed, which keeps me coming back for more.
I’m 24 and a recent Ohio State graduate. I studied environmental policy and have a passion for writing. I would love to combine the two into a career that puts the environment first. In the meantime, I love being surrounded by kindred spirits at RRT and am thrilled to inspire people to get outdoors through climbing, backpacking, and paddling. I see outdoor adventure as a tremendous vessel for personal growth, and want to share those possibilities with others.
My passion for new experiences outdoors is driven by love and concern for our planet. Conservation, Leave No Trace ethics, and sustainability are central to outdoor recreation. Other than working toward a better future, the best thing we can do is enjoy our natural resources. I spend my free time on a rock wall, researching gear, or planning my next adventure. I’m happy to share stories of my latest adventure and help you plan yours.
